Dunservick Harbour June 2016

Dunservick is a nice, quiet backwater away from the busyness of Bushmills and the Giants Causeway, just off the popular A2 coastal route.

We swam alone there on a lovely weekday morning and the peacefulness was as refreshing as the water. Access is via the slipway and then it was sandy underfoot before we eased ourselves into the dark, seaweed smelling water. It was a cool, energizing swim in this sheltered harbour with only a few anchored boats for company. Afterwards we sat on the nearby benches and dried off in the summer sun.

Dunservick has a decent sized car park and good, clean toilets. Access is not a problem.

Directions;

On the A2 from Ballintoy in the Portrush direction watch out for a right hand turn onto the R146 signposted for the Causeway and Dunservick. On this road watch carefully for a small sign on the right signposted for the harbour. Drive to the end of this road to the car park.
